Senior leadership assignments and appointments

The board approved the following appointment, effective August 1, 2011:

Dawn Beckett Morton from executive officer of human resources, Halton District School Board, to the position of director of human resources support services. Beckett Morton has been with the Halton board for 14 years. Prior to that, she was a labour relations officer with the Peel board.

The board approved the following superintendent assignment, effective August 1, 2011:

Pertia Bent from superintendent of education for the elementary schools in the Bramalea (Earnscliffe Sr.), Chinguacousy and Lincoln Alexander Families to superintendent of education for the elementary schools in the Erindale, John Fraser, Stephen Lewis and The Woodlands Families.

Penny Gingell from superintendent of education – accommodation review to superintendent of education for the elementary schools in the Harold Brathwaite (Sunny View), Humberview, Louise Arbour (Sunny View), Mayfield and Sandalwood Heights Families

Jerry Powidajko from superintendent of education for the Brameast #1, Chinguacousy, Fletcher's Meadow, Harold Brathwaite, Heart Lake, Humberview, Judith Nyman, Louise Arbour, Mayfield, and Sandalwood Heights Secondary Schools to superintendent of leadership development and school support services.

The board approved the following superintendent appointments, effective August 1, 2011:

Patricia Noble from principal at Harold M. Brathwaite S.S. to superintendent of education for the Brameast #1, Chinguacousy, Fletcher's Meadow, Harold Brathwaite, Heart Lake, Humberview, Judith Nyman, Louise Arbour, Mayfield, and Sandalwood Heights Secondary Schools.

Patrika Daws from principal at Calderstone Middle School to superintendent of education for the elementary schools in the Bramalea (Earnscliffe Sr.), Chinguacousy and Lincoln Alexander Families.
