Creating a global classroom

How to help students be world leaders

Lead by example. Create your own global classroom and empower your students to be world leaders.

As a teacher, you know that students must have the skills to succeed in a global community. In the 21st century, students need a solid understanding of global development issues and sound leadership skills.

You are already helping students develop these skills in your classrooms. Now, you can find out how to build on your curriculum to create a true global classroom.

The Creating a Global Classroom section of the website will highlight the importance of engaging your students in learning more about international development and leadership. This section will also provide tips, ideas, teaching resources and practical tools to give you the help you need to empower your students to be world leaders. With your support, students will become more active and involved global citizens.

Here's what you will find in this section:

Resource Kits
The Peel District School Board is pleased to offer two resource kits, which are intended to provide teachers with the resources needed to create global classrooms.

Online teaching resources
The websites listed on this page will provide you with ready-to-use materials, lesson plans, links and background information on global development topics—such as human rights, HIV/AIDS, the environment, sustainable development and peace and security—for your classroom.
