It's time to register your four-year old for kindergarten
Starting school is a big step. Begin this journey into learning with us by registering your child for kindergarten. If your child was born in 2008, he or she can start kindergarten in September 2012.
What you will need to bring to registration
- proof of child's age – birth certificate or passport
- proof of address – a copy of an offer to purchase or formal lease agreement or a bank statement or utility bill with your name and address (Note: if using a lease agreement, it must be accompanied by a second form of proof of address)
- proof of custody – children must live with their parent(s) unless provided documentation supports an alternate living arrangement
- proof of immunization – proof that your child has been immunized, according to the recommended immunization schedule in Ontario, to protect against the following:
- diphtheria
- mumps
- polio
- red measles
- rubella (German measles)
- tetanus
Please call Peel Public Health at 905-799-7700:
- for information about the immunization schedule in Ontario
- to verify that your child's record is up-to-date
- to obtain exemption forms if your child has not been immunized for medical reasons or because of conflict of religion or conscience
- for information about how to have your child immunized if you do not have an Ontario health card and can't afford a doctor's fee for immunization
It's important to know that the required immunization information forms must be completed before your child will be allowed to attend class.

Interested in French immersion for your child?
The Peel board offers an early French immersion program that starts in grade 1. Students in the program become fluent in French while developing their English language skills.
If you are interested in French immersion for your child, you must register by the January before your child starts grade 1. For kindergarten, your child will attend your neighbourhood school. For more information about the program, go to "French immersion" in the "Schools" section of www.peelschools.org.
